City Firefighter Search and Rescue Training Program

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - More than 20 first responders from Mexico and Argentina recently spent time training alongside Corpus Christi firefighters and paramedics learning new search and rescue techniques. The fire responders come from several states in Mexico, including Michoacán and Jalisco, and from Rosario, Argentina.

Their goal is to learn new techniques when working as "topos" or moles inside collasped structures to rescue or recover victims. The training will prepare a response for major earthquakes, such as the one that shook Mexico City in 2017.
